GYFTS, 288 Fibers Steel Tape Stranded Loose Tube Optical Fiber Cable. Fibers, 250μm, are positioned into a loose tube made of high modulus plastic. The tubes are filled with water-resistant filling compound. A FRP, sometimes sheathed with polyethylene (PE) for cable with high fiber count, locates in the center of core as a non-metallic strength member. Tubes (and fillers) are stranded around the strength member into a compact and circular cable core. After the water-blocking tape, the second layer of loose tube applied over the water-blocking tape, Then, the water-blocking tape and Corrugated steel tape are applied around the cable core, which is filled with filling compound to protect it from water ingress. Finally, the fiber cable types is completed with a PE sheath.
